EH Athletics News - December 12, 2016

  • This past Saturday our Swim Team hosted the annual EH Swim Invite. Our girls finished 2nd and our boys finished 4th. Records broke on the day included: Shelby Kell: 500 Free (6:00.50) missed becoming the first girl under 6 minutes in EH history by .50 seconds, Chris Walton: 500 Free (5:26.59), Chris Walton: 100 Back (1:01.84)
  • On Saturday our 7th & 8th grade girls basketball team did a service project at the Hancock County Food Pantry
  • Also on Saturday our 7th Grade boys basketball team won the Union County Invite.
  • This coming Friday night is the Annual Varsity Girls/Boys Basketball doubleheader at Knightstown. Girls tip at 6pm with the Varsity to follow.
  • This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:

EH Athletics News - December 5, 2016

  • On Saturday our EH Girls Swim team were champions of the Lawrenceburg Invite. School records that were set included:
    • Shelby Kell (Girls): 200 Free (2:14.16) and 500 Free (6:11.51)
    • Chris Walton (Boys): 200 Free (2:00.67)
  • Also on Saturday our Wrestling team won the Cambridge City Lincoln Invite. Wrestlers who went undefeated on the day included. 
    • Caleb Giddings
    • Jordyn Wills
    • Brandon Francis
    • Clayton Cochard
    • Alexander Burton
    • Josh Robinson
  • On Friday night Addison True set the school record for steals in a boys basketball varsity game (10) in a 60-33 win over Southwestern. 
  • Our 7th Grade boys basketball team moved to a perfect 7-0 with wins this past week over Tri & Waldron.
  • This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
    • HS- Robbie Noel, C Team boys basketball
    • MS- Isaac Lewis, 7th Grade boys basketball

EH Athletics News - November 28, 2016

  • The HS Wrestling team got off to a good start Saturday as they went 4-1 at the Union County Invitational. The following young men were a perfect 5-0 in their weight class:
    • 132 Caleb Giddings, 145 Jordyn Wills, 152 Garrett Friesen, 182 Clayton Cochard, 285 Josh Robinson
  • More swim records were broken this past week in our first Coed meet of the year vs. Centerville.
    • Girls 200 Medley Relay team of Kell, Profitt, Griesmeyer, and Huffman (2:11.71)
    • Boys 500 Freestyle Chris Walton (5:27.64)
    • Girls 100 Backstroke Shelby Kell (1:08.57)
  • The boys Varsity basketball defeated County foe New Palestine Saturday evening by a score of 61-51. It was just the 2nd time in the last 26 years that the boys have defeated the Dragons.
  • The 7th Grade boys basketball team remains undefeated at 4-0!
  • The 6th grade boys basketball team were Champions of the Greenfield Thanksgiving Shootout! They went 5-0 on the weekend. 
  • This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
    • HS- Ian White, JV Boys Basketball
    • MS- Bryce Wennen, 6th Grade Boys Basketball

EH Athletics News - November 21, 2016

  • Last Thursday at our girls swim meet vs. New Castle and Batesville Shelby Kell broke the 100M Backstroke record with a time of 1:08.59. The first Coed meet is tonight when the Royals host the Centerville Bulldogs. 
  • Our Girls Varsity basketball team picked up 2 more wins over the weekend making them 4-2 on the year. The JV girls basketball team is 4-1.
  • Our 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams are off to a great start. They 7th grade is 4-0 and the 8th grade is 3-1. 
  • The HS Wrestling team will open its season this coming Saturday as they participate in the Union County Invitational. 
  • Our Varsity/ JV boys basketball team will open its season Wednesday night when they travel to Centerville to take on the Bulldogs, The home opener will be Saturday when the New Palestine Dragons visit. Both nights JV start time is 6pm with the Varsity to follow. 
  • 2016 EH Grad Clayton Brumfield was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Freshman of the Year. Clayton is a attending Franklin College. Link to article below.

EH Athletics News - November 14, 2016

  • Congrats to our Varsity Girls basketball coach Andy Meneely who got his first win as a Head Coach this past Tuesday @ Elwood!
  • This Wednesday is our Fall Athletic Awards. Start time will be 7pm with all sports starting in the High School gym.
  • This Thursday our Girls HS Swim team will open up its season. They will host Batesville and New Castle. Start time 6pm
  • Peyton West recently signed a letter of intent to play softball at Calumet College of St. Joseph's. (Whiting, In)

EH Athletics News - November 7, 2016

  • Believe it or not winter sports are up and running. We had the following action this weekend:
    • Our 7th & 8th grade boys basketball teams both got 2 wins over North Decatur and South Decatur in Round Robin play on Saturday morning at ND.
    • Our JV girls basketball team defeated Beech Grove Saturday evening 41-38 to open it season.
    • Our Varsity girls basketball team lost a close one to Beech Grove 52-45. 
  • Our fall athletic awards program will be Wednesday, November 16th at 7pm. 
  • This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
    • HS- Emiley Carlton, Girls Basketball
    • MS- Chase Riggs, 7th Grade Boys Basketball
