EH Athletics News - October 31, 2019

  • Football
    • Varsity football was victorious is Round 1 of the Sectional. They will host Heritage Christian at 7pm tomorrow night for Round 2.
  • Girls Basketball
    • Girls Varsity basketball opens up its season this Saturday. They will be traveling to Randolph Southern to participate in the MEC Jamboree. They will be playing Blue River in the 3rd half.

EH Athletics News - October 24, 2019

  • Cross Country
    • For the first time in Eastern Hancock cross country history three runners from the Royal cross country teams have advanced as individuals to the semi-state. For the boys team at the Rushville regional on Saturday junior Daniel Campbell ran a 17:29 to finish 25th and senior Nick Edwards finished 28th with a time of 17:34. Both qualified for semi-state by being in the top ten individuals not on the top five advancing teams. Sophomore Ashton Willis advanced for the girls with a new personal record time of 21:13 and a Top 20 finish at 16th. They will run Saturday morning at the Shelbyville course.
  • Boys Tennis
    • Kodey Huff was named All- County in Tennis. Zeke Dixon received Honorable Mention honors
  • Football
    • EH opens up Sectional play tomorrow when they travel to Winchester for Round 1 of the Sectional. If the Royals are victorious they will host in Round 2.

EH Athletics News - October 17, 2019

  • Football
    • Congrats to Varsity football. With their 14-12 win over Shenandoah last Friday they clinched the MEC Championship! Final regular season game of the year will be at Lapel on Friday. First sectional game will be at Winchester on Oct 25
    • Houston Swan has recently surpassed a couple single season passing records. 
      • TD’s passes (27) and passing yards (1954).
  • Girls Golf
    • Girls golf finished up an outstanding season. Among their accomplishments included
      • Overall in dual matches finished 14-5.
      • All Conference Jocelyn Duncan, Haleigh Cavaletto
      • Team Broke 9 Hole Record 188
      • Team Broke 18 Hole Record 410
      • Jocelyn Duncan Broke Individual 9 Hole Record 40
  • Volleyball
    • Lili Hunt was selected as All MEC.
    • Our 8th Grade Team finished with an outstanding 13-6 record.
    • This year marked our first year with a school 6th grade team. They finished with a 5-2 record.
  • Tennis
    • Boys Tennis had a great year. Below are some of their accomplishments
      • Finished 7-7 in dual match play (up from 3-7 last year)
      • Won the Team MEC Championship

EH Athletics News - September 23, 2019

  • Football News
    • The anvil is back at EH! Varsity football defeated Knightstown 46-27 this past Friday. They are now 4-1 heading into our Homecoming game this week vs. South Decatur!
  • Golf News
    • Girls golf finished up their season yesterday at the Sectional at the Links in New Pal. The girls finished 6th out of 12 teams. In doing so they shot a school record 410 for 18 holes! Low score on the day was Haleigh Cavaletto who shot a 97.
    • Last Wednesday girls golf finished up their regular season with a win over Centerville making them 14-5 on the year. Jocelyn Duncan broke her own record for 9 holes by firing a 40. Overall the girls broke the team record for 9 holes for the 3rd time this season by shooting a 188.
  • Tennis News
    • Boys Tennis continues to have a great season! With 3 wins last week they have moved to 7-2 in dual match play. This Saturday they will host the EH Invite!
    • This past Saturday the EH Girls MS team were champions of the EH Invite! Also, the girls are still undefeated in dual match play (9-0)!
  • Cross Country News
    • This past Saturday EH hosted its annual Invitation. Daniel Campbell (2nd) & Nick Edwards (3rd) had outstanding finishes. The boys finished 2nd overall. On the girls side Ashton Willis finished 2nd overall. Tonight EH hosts the Hancock County Meet.
    • Congrats to Oliva Evans who for the 2nd consecutive year was the MS Girls County Individual XC Champion! On the boys side Preston Markley finished 4th.
  • Volleyball News
    • This coming Saturday Varsity Volleyball will host its annual Invitational. Start time is 9am!
    • This season for the 1st time EH has a 6th grade volleyball school team. They are currently 4-2 on the season!
  • Royal Pride News

EH Athletics News - September 16, 2019

  • Tennis
    • MS Tennis were the champions of the Shenandoah Invite this past Saturday!
    • Girls MS Tennis remains a perfect 6-0 on the season.
  • Football
    • Football hosts Knightstown this Friday night for rights to the Anvil. Since it was created EH has won it 7 times and Knightstown 6.
    • This is also #ShultzStrong Week in honor of Coach Shultz. Friday we will have a “Cancer Walk” where students can pay $1 to their 7th period teacher to get out of class to walk the halls in the MS and HS. Friday night at the home football game and the FFA Hog Roast we will be taking free will donations.
  • Cross Country
    • The Royals boys high school cross country team placed 4th out of 17 teams in the Randolph Southern Invitational Saturday. Nick Edwards had a Top 10 finish (7th).
    • Preston Markley finished 3rd in the MS Boys Division
    • Olivia Evans finished 4th in the MS Girls Division.
    • EHHS will host its annual XC Invite this Saturday- 10am start!
  • Girls Golf
    • Girls Golf continues to have a great season. They are currently 12-8 overall heading into the Sectional next Monday!

EH Athletics News - September 9, 2019

  • Tennis
    • Congrats to Boys Tennis who won the MEC Conference Championship this past Saturday! Individual winners were Kodey Huff at 1 Singles and Sammy Blocher, Bryce Wennen at 2 Doubles!
    • MS Girls Tennis is a perfect 4-0!
  • Football
    • Varsity football is a perfect 3-0 on the year. This coming Friday will be the Royals home opener. They host the undefeated Heritage Christian Eagles.
    • Friday will also be youth football recognition for players, cheerleaders and coaches. They will be introduced at half time.
  • Volleyball
    • Our 8th grade volleyball team had two huge county wins this past week. On Tuesday they defeated Greenfield and on Thursday Mt. Vernon.
    • This Saturday EH will host County volleyball for 7th & 8th Grade.
  • Cross Country
    • The Royals boys high school cross country team placed 4th out of 12 teams in the Red Division of the Marion Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University Saturday. EH had two top 10 finishers- Daniel Campbell(4th) and Nick Edwards(7th),
  • Girls Golf
    • Earlier this season EH broke the 9 hole school record. They shot a 196 in a 3 way match with Shenandoah and Wapahani at Tri County Golf Club.

EH Athletics News - September 3, 2019

  • Girls Golf- Congrats to Haleigh Cavaletto and Jocelyn Duncan who earned All-Conference Honors at the MEC Golf Meet on Saturday. The team finished 4th overall. Tonight they participate in the Hancock County Meet at Hawk’s Tail
  • Cross Country-Congrats to Olivia Evans (girls) and Preston Markley (boys) who were individual champions of the EHMS XC Invite this past Saturday.
  • Football- Our Varsity Football team moved to 2-0, and 1-0 in MEC play with a 48-20 win over Wes Del. The Royals head to Fountain Central this Friday.

EH Athletics News - August 26, 2019

  • Cross Country
    • Congrats to Nick Edwards (6th) and Daniel Campbell (10th) who both earned top 10 finishes at the Monroe Central HSXC Boys Invite this past Saturday.
    • Congrats to Olivia Evans who finished 2nd in the girls middle school race.
    • Congrats to Preston Markley who was 4th in the boys middle school race.
  • Football
    • Varsity Football opened up its season with a convincing 42-13 win over Northwestern this past Friday. Houston Swan tossed a school record 6 TD’s passes. The Royals travel to Wes Del this Friday for an MEC matchup.
    • JV opened up its season last night by winning a 40-30 shootout over Frankton.
    • Our 8th grade team is a perfect 2-0 so far this year. They along with our 7th grade travel to Greenfield tomorrow to take on the Cougars. That game will take place at the high school.
  • Tennis
    • Boys tennis won its first match of the year vs. Randolph Southern going a perfect 5-0 on the night. EH hosts the MEC this Saturday. 9am start.
    • Our girls MS tennis team is off to a perfect 2-0 start!
  • Volleyball
    • Varsity Volleyball got its first 2 wins of the season this past Saturday. They defeated Whiteland and Union City. They host their first 2 home games this week with Centerville tonight and Greenfield C. on Thursday.
  • Girls Golf
    • Girls Varsity golf is on a roll. They have won their last 2 and 3 of their last 4. The MEC conference meet is coming up this Saturday at Maplewood Golf Course
  • Royal Pride News

  • Congrats to Jocelyn Duncan who broke the school record for low score for 9 holes of girls golf. She shot a 41 vs. Mount Vernon last Thursday at Arrowhead.
  • Our boys Varsity tennis team opened up its season with a 5-0 win over Randolph Southern last night.
  • Our Varsity football team travels to Northwestern in Kokomo this Friday for their 1st game. 7pm start.

EH Athletics News - October 22, 2018

  • We have officially finished up our Fall Athletic Season. Our Fall Awards program will be Wednesday, November 14th at 7pm. 
  • Cross Country finished up strong. Below some noteworthy IHSAA tourney series accomplishments 
    • Girls- Ashton Willis & Annie Lindsay Regional Qualifiers 
    • Boys- Daniel Campbell (Regional Qualifier) & Skyler Schrope (Regional & Semi-State Qualifier) 
  • In the Sectional Football game Friday @ Heritage Christian Victor Olivo surpassed 1000 rushing yards on the season with 1008. 
  • Girls HS Basketball is underway. They began practice last week and will participate in the MEC Jamboree on Saturday at Randolph Southern.

EH Athletics News - September 24, 2018

  • Congrats to Olivia Evans who was the overall Middle School girls Cross Country County Champion last week! 
  • Other Highlights of the Cross Country County Meet. 
    • Skyler Schrope earned All-County honors by finishing 9th in the boys meet. 
    • MS Top 10 Finishes- Boys- Edric Miller (4th), Preston Markley (5th) 
    • Congrats to Daniel Campbell who at the Delta Invitational ran a 17:24 placing him in the Top 10 all-time EH 5K times! 
  • With the varsity football victory over South Decatur this past Friday Coach Armstrong earned his 100th Win as a Varsity Coach! 
  • Our Boys Tennis Team placed 2nd out of 4 teams at the EH Tennis Invite this past Saturday. They will compete Thursday night vs. New Pal at MV in the Sectional. 
  • Girls MS Tennis remains a perfect 9-0 as they head into a match with Greenfield tonight. 
  • Our Varsity Volleyball Team placed 4th of 8 teams at the EH Volleyball this past Saturday.

      • We have 4 of the 5 spots in Boys Tennis in the Finals 1 Singles- Kodey Huff, 3 Singles- Kegan Kendall, 1 Doubles- Brady Ellis & Keegan Bowman, 2 Doubles- Sammy Blocher & Peyton Robertson 
    • 7pm @ Knightstown- Varsity Football will be at Knightstown for the Battle for the Plowshare & Anvil (Below is a History of the Anvil & some recent Pics are attached) 
      • Began in 2006 EH currently holds the advantage 7-5 
      • EH took first 2- Ktown then won 5 straight- EH has won the last 5

  • Our Varsity football team is off to a 2-0 start after their conference victory over Wes Del this past Friday. They host Fountain Central this Friday in a homecoming matchup! 
  • With 2 recent wins our 7th grade volleyball team is off to a 4-1 start. Next up for them will be Greenfield tonight at home! 
  • Our MS tennis teams are off to a great start. The girls are 2-0 and the boys our 2-1. Next up for them is a tough matchup vs. Lapel tonight.

EH Athletics News - August 20, 2018

  • Congrats to our Varsity FB team who opened up its season with a 28-14 win over Northwestern. 
  • JV football opened its season up on Monday vs. Frankton- 6pm at EH. 
  • Our 7th grade football team is 2-0 on the year! 
  • Haley Best was voted to the All-Tourney team at the Shenandoah Volleyball Invite this past Saturday. 
  • Skyler Schrope had 2 Top 10 finishes in Cross Country Invitationals this past week. He finished 9th at the Triton Central Invite and 8th at the Monroe Central Invitational! Edric Miller had a 4th place finish in the MS boys Cross Country Division at Monroe Central 
  • Girls golf picked up their first win of the year vs. South Decatur last Monday. Jocelyn Duncan shot a 45 to lead the way!

EH Athletics News - December 18, 2017

  • The HS Wrestling team were champions of the Blackford Wrestling Invite this past Saturday.
    • The following young men were champions in their weight class. 
      • 120- Kegan Kendall, 138- Caleb Giddings, 152- Jordyn Wills, 160- Garrett Friesen, 195- Clayton Cochard, 220- Alexander Burton 
  • The Boys and Girls Varsity basketball teams swept the Knightstown Panthers in the doubleheader on Friday! The girls won going away 63-36 and the boys won an overtime thriller 47-43. 
  • The EH Athletic Boosters hosted a dinner Friday during the games with Knightstown. They raised enough money to give $1200 to both the Riley Settergren and Dylan Hiner Scholarship Funds! 
  • The 7th & 8th Grade Boys basketball teams swept Greenfield’s ‘A’ teams on Wednesday night. Both of those teams are currently 11-2! 
  • Good Luck to Coach O’Hara at Ben Davis University. He will finish up at EH on Wednesday before moving on. Thanks all your efforts over the last 4 years. You will be missed! 
  • This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
    • HS - Luke Splater, Varsity Boys Basketball
