EH Athletics News - October 24, 2019

  • Cross Country
    • For the first time in Eastern Hancock cross country history three runners from the Royal cross country teams have advanced as individuals to the semi-state. For the boys team at the Rushville regional on Saturday junior Daniel Campbell ran a 17:29 to finish 25th and senior Nick Edwards finished 28th with a time of 17:34. Both qualified for semi-state by being in the top ten individuals not on the top five advancing teams. Sophomore Ashton Willis advanced for the girls with a new personal record time of 21:13 and a Top 20 finish at 16th. They will run Saturday morning at the Shelbyville course.
  • Boys Tennis
    • Kodey Huff was named All- County in Tennis. Zeke Dixon received Honorable Mention honors
  • Football
    • EH opens up Sectional play tomorrow when they travel to Winchester for Round 1 of the Sectional. If the Royals are victorious they will host in Round 2.

EH Athletics News - October 17, 2019

  • Football
    • Congrats to Varsity football. With their 14-12 win over Shenandoah last Friday they clinched the MEC Championship! Final regular season game of the year will be at Lapel on Friday. First sectional game will be at Winchester on Oct 25
    • Houston Swan has recently surpassed a couple single season passing records. 
      • TD’s passes (27) and passing yards (1954).
  • Girls Golf
    • Girls golf finished up an outstanding season. Among their accomplishments included
      • Overall in dual matches finished 14-5.
      • All Conference Jocelyn Duncan, Haleigh Cavaletto
      • Team Broke 9 Hole Record 188
      • Team Broke 18 Hole Record 410
      • Jocelyn Duncan Broke Individual 9 Hole Record 40
  • Volleyball
    • Lili Hunt was selected as All MEC.
    • Our 8th Grade Team finished with an outstanding 13-6 record.
    • This year marked our first year with a school 6th grade team. They finished with a 5-2 record.
  • Tennis
    • Boys Tennis had a great year. Below are some of their accomplishments
      • Finished 7-7 in dual match play (up from 3-7 last year)
      • Won the Team MEC Championship
      • Individual Conference Champs
        • 1 Singles- Kodey Huff
        • 2 Doubles- Bryce Wennen, Sam Blocher
    • MS Tennis had a fantastic season
      • Girls 12-0 in dual matches- EH Invite Champs, Shenandoah Invite Champs
      • Boys 11-3 in dual matches – Shenandoah Invite Champs
  • Cross Country
    • 3 Individuals Advanced to Regionals from the Sectional this past Saturday

EH Athletics News - September 23, 2019

  • Football News
    • The anvil is back at EH! Varsity football defeated Knightstown 46-27 this past Friday. They are now 4-1 heading into our Homecoming game this week vs. South Decatur!
  • Golf News
    • Girls golf finished up their season yesterday at the Sectional at the Links in New Pal. The girls finished 6th out of 12 teams. In doing so they shot a school record 410 for 18 holes! Low score on the day was Haleigh Cavaletto who shot a 97.
    • Last Wednesday girls golf finished up their regular season with a win over Centerville making them 14-5 on the year. Jocelyn Duncan broke her own record for 9 holes by firing a 40. Overall the girls broke the team record for 9 holes for the 3rd time this season by shooting a 188.
  • Tennis News
    • Boys Tennis continues to have a great season! With 3 wins last week they have moved to 7-2 in dual match play. This Saturday they will host the EH Invite!
    • This past Saturday the EH Girls MS team were champions of the EH Invite! Also, the girls are still undefeated in dual match play (9-0)!
  • Cross Country News
    • This past Saturday EH hosted its annual Invitation. Daniel Campbell (2nd) & Nick Edwards (3rd) had outstanding finishes. The boys finished 2nd overall. On the girls side Ashton Willis finished 2nd overall. Tonight EH hosts the Hancock County Meet.
    • Congrats to Oliva Evans who for the 2nd consecutive year was the MS Girls County Individual XC Champion! On the boys side Preston Markley finished 4th.
  • Volleyball News
    • This coming Saturday Varsity Volleyball will host its annual Invitational. Start time is 9am!
    • This season for the 1st time EH has a 6th grade volleyball school team. They are currently 4-2 on the season!
  • Royal Pride News

EH Athletics News - October 22, 2018

  • We have officially finished up our Fall Athletic Season. Our Fall Awards program will be Wednesday, November 14th at 7pm. 
  • Cross Country finished up strong. Below some noteworthy IHSAA tourney series accomplishments 
    • Girls- Ashton Willis & Annie Lindsay Regional Qualifiers 
    • Boys- Daniel Campbell (Regional Qualifier) & Skyler Schrope (Regional & Semi-State Qualifier) 
  • In the Sectional Football game Friday @ Heritage Christian Victor Olivo surpassed 1000 rushing yards on the season with 1008. 
  • Girls HS Basketball is underway. They began practice last week and will participate in the MEC Jamboree on Saturday at Randolph Southern.

EH Athletics News - October 1, 2018

  • This past Saturday our HS & MS Cross Country teams competed in the MEC Conference meet.
    • Overall our HS boys team finished 3rd. Daniel Campbell (3rd) & Skyler Schrope (5th) earned All- Conference honors. Our HS girls team finished 6th. Annie Lindsay earned All -Conference honors by finishing 10th. Our MS boys team finished 4th. Edric Miller was the overall MS Boys Conference Champ. Preston Markley finished 2nd. Our top finisher for MS girls was Mikayla Hardy who finished 19th.
  • Our V/JV Volleyball teams have their last two home games this week. They host Triton Central Monday & Knightstown Tuesday. They travel to Waldron on Thursday. The sectional will take place at Knightstown next week.
  • This Friday our football team hosts the Shenandoah Raiders. It will also be our Annual FFA Hog Roast.
  • Our Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are
    • HS - Jenna Smith, Volleyball
    • MS - Mikayla Hardy, XC

EH Athletics News - September 17, 2018

  • Congrats to our Girls MS Tennis Team- this past Saturday they were Champions of the EHMS Tennis Invite! Other teams participating were GC, Lapel, and Shenandoah. The girls team also is a perfect 7-0 on the season. Individual Champions at the MS Tennis Invite included. 
    • Grace Stapleton, Savanah Hardin, Tori Parker, & Lexi Swauger, Bryce Wennen & Peyton Stephens 
  • This past Saturday we hosted our Annual HS Cross Country Invite. The boys overall place 2nd and had 3 boys in the Top 10- Skyler Schrope (2nd), Daniel Campbell (3rd), and Nick Edwards (6th). The girls also had 3 in the Top 10- Annie Lindsay (4th), Ashton Willis (5th), and Lilly Combs (9th). 
  • This coming Saturday we will be hosting Invites in Varsity Volleyball & Boys Tennis with both beginning at 9am. If you get a chance come out and support your Royals!

      • We have 4 of the 5 spots in Boys Tennis in the Finals 1 Singles- Kodey Huff, 3 Singles- Kegan Kendall, 1 Doubles- Brady Ellis & Keegan Bowman, 2 Doubles- Sammy Blocher & Peyton Robertson 
    • 7pm @ Knightstown- Varsity Football will be at Knightstown for the Battle for the Plowshare & Anvil (Below is a History of the Anvil & some recent Pics are attached) 
      • Began in 2006 EH currently holds the advantage 7-5 
      • EH took first 2- Ktown then won 5 straight- EH has won the last 5

EH Athletics News - October 16, 2017

  • Congrats to our Varsity volleyball team. They finished their season with a 21-14 record and were runner-up in the Sectional. 
  • Congrats also to Skyler Schrope who qualified for the Cross Country Semi-State at the Regional this past Saturday. The Semi-State will take place at Blue River Park in Shelbyville this coming Saturday. Other runners who had qualified for the Regional included Will Huffman, Daniel Campbell, Nick Edwards, Liberty Durham, and Annie Floyd. 
  • Our Varsity football team opens up Sectional play at Centerville this Friday. 7pm start.

EH Athletics News - October 2, 2017

  • Our cross country teams participated in the MEC meet this past Saturday. The girls finished in 3rd place with Annie Floyd earning all-conference honors. The boys finished 4th with Skyler Schrope & Will Huffman earning all-conference. They will run in the sectional this coming Saturday at New Pal. 
  • The Sectional Draw is out for football. The Royals will open up tourney play on Oct. 20th when they travel to Centerville to take on the Bulldogs. You can access the entire tourney bracket by clicking on this LINK
  • EH will be hosting IHSAA Volleyball Sectional 42. The sectional begins on Thursday, Oct. 12th. However, the Royals drew a bye so they will open up with the Howe Hornets on Saturday, Oct. 14th at 12:30pm. You can access the sectional bracket by clicking this LINK 
  • A special thanks to the Indianapolis Colts. EH was their destination for their Friday night tourney this past week. The Colts presented us with a check for $1500 and had lots of fun activities.

    EH Athletics News - October 17, 2016

    • This week our Volleyball team will be participating in the Sectional at Heritage Christian. Their first game is Thursday night at 7:30pm when they take on Irvington Prep. Sectional semi- finals are Saturday morning and Finals are Saturday night. 
    • The JV volleyball team completed their season with a victory this past Saturday over Tindley. They finished with an 18-7 record on the year.
    • Our Cross Country teams completed their season this past Saturday when they had 7 runners advance out of the Sectional at New Pal. Unfortunately, we did not have anyone advance to the Semi-State. However, there were some close misses.
    • The football team opens up Sectional play this coming Friday when the travel to Centerville to take on the Bulldogs. 7pm start.
