EH Athletics News - May 20, 2019

• The Varsity Softball Team is in the Sectional Championship game tonight (weather permitting) vs. Triton Central. 5:30 start at Heritage Christian
• The Varsity Baseball Team opens up Sectional play tonight (weather permitting) vs. Scecina. 7pm start at Triton Central
• Boys Golf will compete in the Sectional on June 3rd at Hawk’s Tail golf course.
• Boys Track- Highlights from the Mt. Vernon Sectional
• Skyler Sexton was the Sectional Champ in the 300 Hurdles. He also advanced to the Regional in the 110 Hurdles, Kyle Moore advanced in the Long Jump, Gabe Lawler advanced to the Regional in the Shot Put, All 3 of our Relay Teams advanced to the Regional, 4 x 800 Team of Daniel Campbell, Nick Edwards, Cayden Sotelo, & Skyler Schrope, 4 x 100 Team of Zach Arnold, Sexton, Cole Rainbolt, & Blayze Sarber, 4 x 400 Team of Schrope, Sotelo, Arnold, & Sexton. The Track Regional will be at North Central High School tomorrow (Thursday)
• Spring Sports Awards will be Wednesday, June 5th at 7pm.

EH Athletics News - May 13, 2019

• Congrats to Varsity softball who with a win over Cowan last night clinched at least a share of the MEC title
• Congrats to Boys HS Track who became MEC Champs at the Conference Meet last night.
• Individual Conference Champs included: Gabe Lawler (Shot Put), Skyler Schrope (800), Skyler Sexton (110 & 300 H), 4 x 800 Relay Team (Schrope, Campbell, Sotelo, Edwards), 4 x 100 Relay Team (Sarber, Arnold, Sexton, Rainbolt), 4 x 400 Relay Team (Schope, Sexton, Arnold, Sotelo)
• The boys track will compete in the Sectional this week at Mount Vernon.
• The Girls HS Track team finished 2nd at the MEC meet. Congrats to Aly Spaulding who was Conference Champ in the Long Jump. She also advanced to the Regional next week at Ben Davis by finishing 3rd in the Long Jump last evening at the Pendleton Heights Sectional.
• The girls Varsity Tennis team finished the regular season last night with a win over Randolph Southern. They finished the year with a dual record of 7-7 which is a big improvement from last year. They got a bye in the Sectional. They will compete Thursday at Mt. Vernon.

• With 2 Conference wins this week Varsity softball is a perfect 6-0 in MEC play. They can clinch the conference with wins over Wapahani Friday and Cowan next Tuesday.
• Megan Bever has committed to play softball next year at Anderson University

• Congrats to Skyler Sexton who again broke the EH school record for the boys 300 Hurdles with a time of 39.87 at Knightstown last evening.
• The MEC Track Meet is this Friday at Monroe Central.

EH Athletics News - May 14, 2018

• Congrats to the EHHS Lady Royal Track Team who won the MEC Championship this past Tuesday. Individual conference champions included. 
• Hannah Gates, 100M & 300 M Hurdles, Taylor Stine, 100 M & 200 M Dash, Aly Spaulding, Long Jump, 4 x 100 Relay of Kayla Fancher, Jenna Smith, Spaulding, & Gates, 4 x 400 Relay of Stine, Gates, Spaulding, & Fancher.
• The boys HS track team finished 2nd at the MEC meet. Skyler Schrope was the individual champion in the 800M Run. 
• Congrats to our Lady Royal Varsity Softball Team who were the Champions of the Blackford Invitational this past Saturday. They beat Union County in the Semi-Final and Delta in the Championship Game. 
• Congrats to Loren Matlock in earned All-Conference Honors in Boys Golf by finishing 3rd Saturday in the MEC match. He shot a career best 83!

• Congrats to both our boys and girls track teams who were EHHS Invitational Champions this past Thursday! Also, congrats to Skyler Schrope & Taylor Stine who were male and female Athletes of the Meet! 1st place finishers on the night included:
• Girls- Kayla Fancher (100D), Taylor Stine (400), Liberty Durham (3200), 4 x 100 Relay (Fancher, Lewman, Spaulding, Stine), Bailey Allen (Shot), 
• Boys- Skyler Schrope (800 & 1600), Skyler Sexton (110H), 4 x 800 Relay (Huffman, Campbell, Sotelo, Schrope), Kyle Moore (LJ) 
• This past Tuesday our Boys golf team shot their best 9 Hole score in several years. They shot a 173. Individual scores were:
• Cody Lanning shot a 41, Loren Matlock 44, KC Smoak 46, Tyler Castle 48 
• With an 11-2 win over Randolph Southern on Friday the Varsity softball team moved to 4-0 in the MEC! 
• Our MS boys track team remains undefeated. We have had a few boys break some EHMS records:
• Zach Arnold in the 200 (he held in for about one minute- until Cole Rainbolt broke it in the next Heat!). Cole Rainbolt also broke the LJ record, Jacob Spaulding in the 200 Hurdles

• Congrats to John McDaniel who was the Hancock County Individual Champion in middle school golf. John shot a 40 at Royal Hylands this past Saturday to lead the pack! 
• Both the boys and girls track teams finished 4th out of 9 teams at the Guerin Catholic Invite this past Saturday. Individual winners included:
• Taylor Stine in the Girls 400 Meter Dash (1:02.53), Brady Stephens in the Boys Shot Put (44-02.50), Girls 4 x 100 Relay Team of Kayla Fancher, Lexi Lewman, Aly Spaulding, and Chloe O’Neal (53.15) 
• This week they will host the Eastern Hancock Track Invitational this Thursday. 
• This past week in Varsity softball Jessie Potts tossed a No-Hitter vs. Morristown & Elise Bittinger pitched a Shut-out vs. Daleville in wins this past week. 
• AJ Muegge was name 1st Team Academic All-State by the IBCA for Boys Basketball. 
• This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:

• We have had several of our track athletes qualify for the Indoor State Meet which will take place next Saturday at IU Bloomington. They include the following:
• 4 x 200 Relay team of Kayla Fancher, Taylor Stine, Aly Spaulding, & Chloe O’Neal, 4 X 400 Relay team of Taylor Stine, Kayla Fancher, Hannah Gates, & Chloe O’Neal, 4 x 400 Relay Team of Skyler Schrope, Skyler Sexton, Daniel Campbell, & Blayze Sarber, 4 x 800 Relay Team of Will Huffman, Daniel Campbell, Cayden Sotelo, & Skyler Schrope 
• The Varsity Softball team will open up its season on Thursday when the travel to Randolph So. for an MEC matchup. 5:30pm 
• This Wednesday evening at 7pm will be our winter Athletic Awards. All winter sports will begin in the high school gym and we will do breakouts from there.

• Lady Royal HS Track Team finished 6th out of 13 teams in the Sectional this past Tuesday at Pendleton Heights. They also finished 1st out of the 8 Class 1A & 2A teams. Individual scorers included: Katie Janes 8th in 100 & 200, Taylor Stine 2nd in 400 (Regional Qualifier), Lainey Effing 6th in 1600, Hannah Gates 7th in 100 H & 3rd in 300 H (Regional Qualifier), Lexi Lewman 4th in LJ, Aly Spaulding 7th in LJ, Emily Wilson 8th in Discus, 4 x 100 Team Lexi Lewman, Katie Janes, Aly Spaulding, Whitney Bishop (6th), 4x 400 Team Lainey Effing, Aly Spaulding, Hannah Gates, Taylor Stine (5th), 4 x 800 Team Lainey Effing, Annie Floyd, Liberty Durham, Taylor Stine (6th), Bailey Allen Shot Put Champ (Regional Qualifier)

• The middle school boys track team won the County this past week! 
• The Varsity Softball team finished the regular season 18-6. They open up sectional play tomorrow at Heritage Christian at 7pm vs. the Howe Hornets. 
• The Varsity Baseball team finished the regular season 12-12. They open up sectional play Wednesday at Triton Central at 5pm when they take on the Tigers.
