Boys Track- Highlights from the Mt. Vernon Sectional
Skyler Sexton was the Sectional Champ in the 300 Hurdles. He also advanced to the Regional in the 110 Hurdles, Kyle Moore advanced in the Long Jump, Gabe Lawler advanced to the Regional in the Shot Put, All 3 of our Relay Teams advanced to the Regional, 4 x 800 Team of Daniel Campbell, Nick Edwards, Cayden Sotelo, & Skyler Schrope, 4 x 100 Team of Zach Arnold, Sexton, Cole Rainbolt, & Blayze Sarber, 4 x 400 Team of Schrope, Sotelo, Arnold, & Sexton. The Track Regional will be at North Central High School tomorrow (Thursday)
Spring Sports Awards will be Wednesday, June 5th at 7pm.

The boys track will compete in the Sectional this week at Mount Vernon.
The Girls HS Track team finished 2nd at the MEC meet. Congrats to Aly Spaulding who was Conference Champ in the Long Jump. She also advanced to the Regional next week at Ben Davis by finishing 3rd in the Long Jump last evening at the Pendleton Heights Sectional.
The girls Varsity Tennis team finished the regular season last night with a win over Randolph Southern. They finished the year with a dual record of 7-7 which is a big improvement from last year. They got a bye in the Sectional. They will compete Thursday at Mt. Vernon.
With 2 Conference wins this week Varsity softball is a perfect 6-0 in MEC play. They can clinch the conference with wins over Wapahani Friday and Cowan next Tuesday.

This past Tuesday our Boys golf team shot their best 9 Hole score in several years. They shot a 173. Individual scores were:

Our MS boys track team remains undefeated. We have had a few boys break some EHMS records:
Zach Arnold in the 200 (he held in for about one minute- until Cole Rainbolt broke it in the next Heat!). Cole Rainbolt also broke the LJ record, Jacob Spaulding in the 200 Hurdles
Congrats to John McDaniel who was the Hancock County Individual Champion in middle school golf. John shot a 40 at Royal Hylands this past Saturday to lead the pack!
Both the boys and girls track teams finished 4th out of 9 teams at the Guerin Catholic Invite this past Saturday. Individual winners included:
Taylor Stine in the Girls 400 Meter Dash (1:02.53), Brady Stephens in the Boys Shot Put (44-02.50), Girls 4 x 100 Relay Team of Kayla Fancher, Lexi Lewman, Aly Spaulding, and Chloe O’Neal (53.15)
This week they will host the Eastern Hancock Track Invitational this Thursday.
This past week in Varsity softball Jessie Potts tossed a No-Hitter vs. Morristown & Elise Bittinger pitched a Shut-out vs. Daleville in wins this past week.
AJ Muegge was name 1st Team Academic All-State by the IBCA for Boys Basketball.
We have had several of our track athletes qualify for the Indoor State Meet which will take place next Saturday at IU Bloomington. They include the following:

This Wednesday evening at 7pm will be our winter Athletic Awards. All winter sports will begin in the high school gym and we will do breakouts from there.

The Varsity Baseball team finished the regular season 12-12. They open up sectional play Wednesday at Triton Central at 5pm when they take on the Tigers.

Congrats to EH Alumni Kiersten Schrope & Hope Spaulding. Both are members of the Marion University girls track team which this past Saturday won the Crossroads League Championship. Kiersten finished 1st in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase & 5th in the 800. Hope placed 5th in the 400 Hurdles.
