- Congrats to our EH boys swim team who were EHHS Invite Champs last Saturday! Leading the way was Matthew McDaniel who had two- 1st place finishes in an individual event (200IM & 500 Free) & contributed to another on a relay team (400 Free)
- Boys & Girls basketball will be hosting the Knightstown Panthers tonight for a Girls/Boys Varsity Doubleheader. Girls tip at 6pm with the boys to follow.
- The girls are 8-3 on the year & 4-1 in the MEC
- The boys are 2-2 overall and a perfect 2-0 in MEC play.
- Tonight at the Ktown basketball games the EH Athletic Boosters will be hosting a Porkburger dinner in the HS Café. Cost is $7.00 and proceeds will go toward the Riley Settergren & Don Willard scholarship funds.
- Our HS Wrestling Team will be traveling to Blackford tomorrow for their Invite.

Winter sports are in full swing- below are some of the highlights
- Girls Basketball
- Varsity girls basketball is currently 7-2 including 3 wins in a row! They are 3-1 in MEC play. JV has a 5-3 record. Next up is North Decatur tomorrow night.
- 8th grade girls basketball were champions this past weekend of the Delta Invitational! They defeated both Northeastern & Delta to win it.
- Boys Basketball
- Varsity boys basketball won its MEC opener over Wes-Del this past Saturday night 73-65. Overall record is 1-1. Our JV is 2-0. Next up is Northeastern on Friday.
- 8th grade boys basketball is currently 7-2 and the 7th grade is 5-4.
- Wrestling
- Varsity wrestling participated in the Lincoln Invite this past Saturday. Avery Willis led the way with a 4-1 record and 2 pins. Tyler Vandervliet went 2-0 on the day.
- They will travel to Triton Central tomorrow night.
- Swimming
- On the girls side Hannah Dolence & Cora McDaniel are leading the way. Each are top performers in 3 events. For the boys Aaron Surburg & Matthew McDaniel lead the way as top performers in 2 events each.
- Our swim team will be hosting their Invitational this Saturday. Start time will be 9am.

- Girls Varsity Basketball is off to a 4-1 start (3-0 MEC) heading into tonight’s conference match up at Shenandoah. The JV is 3-1.
- Varsity Wrestling opened up its season this past Saturday and competed well at the John Hurrie Invite at Tech High School. Trey Brown & Avery Wills led the way. Each had 3-2 records and 2 pins for 6th place in their weight division.
- Swimming had their first boys/girls meet last night at Centerville. Luken Edwards, Chase Morrow, Aaron Surburg, Mason Lardon, Ryan Dagley, Matthew McDaniel, Hannah Dolence, Cora McDaniel, & Olivia Bourquien all had 1st place finishes in an event.
- Boys V/JV basketball opens up its season tomorrow night as they will host the Centerville Bulldogs. JV tips at 6pm.

- Cross Country
- For the first time in Eastern Hancock cross country history three runners from the Royal cross country teams have advanced as individuals to the semi-state. For the boys team at the Rushville regional on Saturday junior Daniel Campbell ran a 17:29 to finish 25th and senior Nick Edwards finished 28th with a time of 17:34. Both qualified for semi-state by being in the top ten individuals not on the top five advancing teams. Sophomore Ashton Willis advanced for the girls with a new personal record time of 21:13 and a Top 20 finish at 16th. They will run Saturday morning at the Shelbyville course.

- Kodey Huff was named All- County in Tennis. Zeke Dixon received Honorable Mention honors
- Football
- EH opens up Sectional play tomorrow when they travel to Winchester for Round 1 of the Sectional. If the Royals are victorious they will host in Round 2.

- Congrats to Varsity football. With their 14-12 win over Shenandoah last Friday they clinched the MEC Championship! Final regular season game of the year will be at Lapel on Friday. First sectional game will be at Winchester on Oct 25

- Football News
- The anvil is back at EH! Varsity football defeated Knightstown 46-27 this past Friday. They are now 4-1 heading into our Homecoming game this week vs. South Decatur!
- Golf News
- Girls golf finished up their season yesterday at the Sectional at the Links in New Pal. The girls finished 6th out of 12 teams. In doing so they shot a school record 410 for 18 holes! Low score on the day was Haleigh Cavaletto who shot a 97.
- Last Wednesday girls golf finished up their regular season with a win over Centerville making them 14-5 on the year. Jocelyn Duncan broke her own record for 9 holes by firing a 40. Overall the girls broke the team record for 9 holes for the 3rd time this season by shooting a 188.
- Tennis News
- Boys Tennis continues to have a great season! With 3 wins last week they have moved to 7-2 in dual match play. This Saturday they will host the EH Invite!
- This past Saturday the EH Girls MS team were champions of the EH Invite! Also, the girls are still undefeated in dual match play (9-0)!
- Cross Country News
- This past Saturday EH hosted its annual Invitation. Daniel Campbell (2nd) & Nick Edwards (3rd) had outstanding finishes. The boys finished 2nd overall. On the girls side Ashton Willis finished 2nd overall. Tonight EH hosts the Hancock County Meet.
- Congrats to Oliva Evans who for the 2nd consecutive year was the MS Girls County Individual XC Champion! On the boys side Preston Markley finished 4th.
- Volleyball News
- This coming Saturday Varsity Volleyball will host its annual Invitational. Start time is 9am!
- This season for the 1st time EH has a 6th grade volleyball school team. They are currently 4-2 on the season!

- Tennis
- MS Tennis were the champions of the Shenandoah Invite this past Saturday!
- Girls MS Tennis remains a perfect 6-0 on the season.
- Football
- Football hosts Knightstown this Friday night for rights to the Anvil. Since it was created EH has won it 7 times and Knightstown 6.
- This is also #ShultzStrong Week in honor of Coach Shultz. Friday we will have a “Cancer Walk” where students can pay $1 to their 7th period teacher to get out of class to walk the halls in the MS and HS. Friday night at the home football game and the FFA Hog Roast we will be taking free will donations.
- Cross Country
- The Royals boys high school cross country team placed 4th out of 17 teams in the Randolph Southern Invitational Saturday. Nick Edwards had a Top 10 finish (7th).
- Preston Markley finished 3rd in the MS Boys Division
- Olivia Evans finished 4th in the MS Girls Division.
- EHHS will host its annual XC Invite this Saturday- 10am start!

- Congrats to Boys Tennis who won the MEC Conference Championship this past Saturday! Individual winners were Kodey Huff at 1 Singles and Sammy Blocher, Bryce Wennen at 2 Doubles!
- MS Girls Tennis is a perfect 4-0!
- Football
- Varsity football is a perfect 3-0 on the year. This coming Friday will be the Royals home opener. They host the undefeated Heritage Christian Eagles.
- Friday will also be youth football recognition for players, cheerleaders and coaches. They will be introduced at half time.
- Volleyball
- Our 8th grade volleyball team had two huge county wins this past week. On Tuesday they defeated Greenfield and on Thursday Mt. Vernon.
- This Saturday EH will host County volleyball for 7th & 8th Grade.
- Cross Country
- The Royals boys high school cross country team placed 4th out of 12 teams in the Red Division of the Marion Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University Saturday. EH had two top 10 finishers- Daniel Campbell(4th) and Nick Edwards(7th),
- Girls Golf
- Earlier this season EH broke the 9 hole school record. They shot a 196 in a 3 way match with Shenandoah and Wapahani at Tri County Golf Club.

- Congrats to Nick Edwards (6th) and Daniel Campbell (10th) who both earned top 10 finishes at the Monroe Central HSXC Boys Invite this past Saturday.

- Football
- Varsity Football opened up its season with a convincing 42-13 win over Northwestern this past Friday. Houston Swan tossed a school record 6 TD’s passes. The Royals travel to Wes Del this Friday for an MEC matchup.
- JV opened up its season last night by winning a 40-30 shootout over Frankton.
- Our 8th grade team is a perfect 2-0 so far this year. They along with our 7th grade travel to Greenfield tomorrow to take on the Cougars. That game will take place at the high school.
- Tennis
- Boys tennis won its first match of the year vs. Randolph Southern going a perfect 5-0 on the night. EH hosts the MEC this Saturday. 9am start.
- Our girls MS tennis team is off to a perfect 2-0 start!
- Volleyball
- Varsity Volleyball got its first 2 wins of the season this past Saturday. They defeated Whiteland and Union City. They host their first 2 home games this week with Centerville tonight and Greenfield C. on Thursday.

- Girls Varsity golf is on a roll. They have won their last 2 and 3 of their last 4. The MEC conference meet is coming up this Saturday at Maplewood Golf Course

- Boys Golf will compete in the Sectional on June 3rd at Hawk’s Tail golf course.

- Skyler Sexton was the Sectional Champ in the 300 Hurdles. He also advanced to the Regional in the 110 Hurdles, Kyle Moore advanced in the Long Jump, Gabe Lawler advanced to the Regional in the Shot Put, All 3 of our Relay Teams advanced to the Regional, 4 x 800 Team of Daniel Campbell, Nick Edwards, Cayden Sotelo, & Skyler Schrope, 4 x 100 Team of Zach Arnold, Sexton, Cole Rainbolt, & Blayze Sarber, 4 x 400 Team of Schrope, Sotelo, Arnold, & Sexton. The Track Regional will be at North Central High School tomorrow (Thursday)

- Congrats to Varsity softball who with a win over Cowan last night clinched at least a share of the MEC title
- Congrats to Boys HS Track who became MEC Champs at the Conference Meet last night.
- Individual Conference Champs included: Gabe Lawler (Shot Put), Skyler Schrope (800), Skyler Sexton (110 & 300 H), 4 x 800 Relay Team (Schrope, Campbell, Sotelo, Edwards), 4 x 100 Relay Team (Sarber, Arnold, Sexton, Rainbolt), 4 x 400 Relay Team (Schope, Sexton, Arnold, Sotelo)
- The boys track will compete in the Sectional this week at Mount Vernon.
- The Girls HS Track team finished 2nd at the MEC meet. Congrats to Aly Spaulding who was Conference Champ in the Long Jump. She also advanced to the Regional next week at Ben Davis by finishing 3rd in the Long Jump last evening at the Pendleton Heights Sectional.
- The girls Varsity Tennis team finished the regular season last night with a win over Randolph Southern. They finished the year with a dual record of 7-7 which is a big improvement from last year. They got a bye in the Sectional. They will compete Thursday at Mt. Vernon.

- Congrats to Martina Romano who was the 200 IM Sectional Champ at New Pal on Saturday! She will advance to the State Finals at IUPUI this Friday. This is the first time in school history we have had a swim sectional champ. She set two school records also.

- Wrestling
- Last night our HS Wrestling team finished in 3rd place out of 9 teams at the MEC meet at Shenandoah. Congrats to Garrett Friesen (170) and Alexander Burton (220) who were Conference Champs in their weight class.
- This Saturday the Wrestlers will participate in the Sectional at Warren Central.
- This Thursday our MS Wrestlers open up their season. They will host Rushville in the MS Gym. 6pm start
- Swimming
- The girls swim team wrap up their regular season schedule tonight when the travel to Hagerstown. Their sectional is next week on Thursday, Jan. 31 & Saturday, Feb. 2 at New Pal

- The Varsity girls basketball team wrapped up MEC play last night with a 40-27 win over Randolph S. The win moves them to 6-3 in the Conference and 3rd overall.
- Senior Night for the girls will be Thursday Night when they host Tri.
- The Lady Royals will open up Sectional play next Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Shenandoah when they take on Irvington Prep. 7:30pm

- With a win over Morristown last night the C basketball team has won 7 straight and are 8-2 overall. They will finish their season this Saturday with the EH Invite beginning at 9am.

- Congrats to the wrestling team who were Champions of the Blackford Invite this past Saturday. Individual Champions included:
- Ethan Boyer, Avery Wills, Garrett Friesen, Tyler Vandervliet, Alexander Burton, Kegan Kendall
- JV boys basketball is currently 6-1 including winners of 3 straight.
- C boys basketball is currently 5-2 winning their last 4.
- Girls 7th grade basketball is 3-0 including a great win last night over Pendleton JH. 8th Grade girls are 2-1.
- Boys 8th grade basketball is 11-2, 7th Grade is 9-4.
