EH Athletics News - May 22, 2017

• Lady Royal HS Track Team finished 6th out of 13 teams in the Sectional this past Tuesday at Pendleton Heights. They also finished 1st out of the 8 Class 1A & 2A teams. Individual scorers included: Katie Janes 8th in 100 & 200, Taylor Stine 2nd in 400 (Regional Qualifier), Lainey Effing 6th in 1600, Hannah Gates 7th in 100 H & 3rd in 300 H (Regional Qualifier), Lexi Lewman 4th in LJ, Aly Spaulding 7th in LJ, Emily Wilson 8th in Discus, 4 x 100 Team Lexi Lewman, Katie Janes, Aly Spaulding, Whitney Bishop (6th), 4x 400 Team Lainey Effing, Aly Spaulding, Hannah Gates, Taylor Stine (5th), 4 x 800 Team Lainey Effing, Annie Floyd, Liberty Durham, Taylor Stine (6th), Bailey Allen Shot Put Champ (Regional Qualifier) 
• The Boys HS Track Team finished 7th out of 13 teams in the Sectional this past Tuesday at Mt. Vernon. They also finished 2nd out of the 8 Class 1A & 2A teams. Individual scorers included: Skyler Schrope 6th place in 1600 & 7th place 3200, Jayson Bowers 4th place in 300 H (Regional Qualifier), Reece Burkhart 2nd place in Shot (Regional Qualifier) & 7th place in Discus, 4 x 100 Relay Team of Blayze Sarber, Jayson Bowers, Chase Settergren, Devyn Brinson (7th), 4 x 400 Relay Team of Alvaro Cosmen, Blayze Sarber, Jayson Bowers, Devyn Brinson (8th), 4 x 800 Relay Team of Will Huffman, Nick Edwards, Connor Bennett, Corbin Jennings (7th)
• The middle school boys track team won the County this past week! 
• The Varsity Softball team finished the regular season 18-6. They open up sectional play tomorrow at Heritage Christian at 7pm vs. the Howe Hornets. 
• The Varsity Baseball team finished the regular season 12-12. They open up sectional play Wednesday at Triton Central at 5pm when they take on the Tigers. 
• This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
• Reece Burkhart, Boys Track & Field.

EH Athletics News - May 15, 2017

• This past Saturday Kayla Huff was #2 Singles Girls Tennis Champion at the EH Invitational. 
• Girls Track will be participating in the Sectional this Tuesday at Pendleton Heights High School. 
• Boys Track will be participating in the Sectional Thursday at Mount Vernon. 
• This past Thursday our Varsity Baseball team defeated previously undefeated and Class A #1 Hagerstown 5-4. 
• This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
• Lainey Effing, Girls Track & Field.

• Congrats to EH Alumni Kiersten Schrope & Hope Spaulding. Both are members of the Marion University girls track team which this past Saturday won the Crossroads League Championship. Kiersten finished 1st in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase & 5th in the 800. Hope placed 5th in the 400 Hurdles.

EH Athletics News - May 1, 2017

• Both the boys and girls high school track teams were champions of the Eastern Hancock Invitational this past Thursday. On the girls side Taylor Stine was Athlete of the Meet- on boys side Alvaro Cosmen was Athlete of the Meet. Both teams will compete in the County Meet this Wednesday at Mount Vernon. 
• Our Varsity softball team has won 6 in a row. That includes winning both games of a doubleheader at Lawrence North and a victory over highly ranked IHSAA 2A Northeastern. They are currently 14-3 on the season. 
• This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
• HS- Cody Young, Boys Golf 
• MS- Gage Deiser, MS Golf
