EH Athletics News - January 30, 2017

• Congrats to the following wrestlers for advancing to the Regional out of the Shenandoah Sectional. They will compete at Richmond High School this coming Saturday. 
• Jack Smith (120-4th place), Gabe Blake (138- 3rd place), Jordyn Wills (145- 2nd place), Brandon Francis (170-4th place), Colby Hunt (195-4th place), Alexander Burton (220-4th place), Josh Robinson (285- Sectional Champion) 
• Our girls swim team will compete in the Sectional this week at New Pal- Prelims are Thursday with the Finals being Saturday morning. 
• Our girls basketball team will be playing in the Sectional this week at Knightstown High School- they will play Irvington Prep Friday at 6pm. Championship will be at 7:30pm Saturday. 
• This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
• HS- Jacob Eischen, Boys Basketball

• Congrats to Josh Robinson (285 lbs) SECTIONAL CHAMPION! 
• Jordyn Wills (145 lbs) SECTIONAL RUNNER-UP! 
• Gabe Blake (138lbs ) placed third. 
• Alex Burton (220 lbs), Colby Hunt (195 lbs), Brandon Francis (170 lbs ), and Jack Smith (120 lbs) all placed 4th.

EH Athletics News - January 23, 2017

• Our Wrestlers this Saturday will be participating in the Sectional at Shenandoah. Start time will be 9am. 
• Our Varsity/JV girls basketball teams will close out its regular season this week. They have 3 home games- Monday vs. Anderson Prep, Tuesday vs Ritter, and Thursday vs. Tri. Next week will be the sectional at Knightstown. 
• Tomorrow the boys basketball program is sponsoring a blood drive at Eastern Hancock. Special thanks to Coach Joe Paxton who coordinated this effort! 

• This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week are:
• HS- Liberty Durham, Girls Basketball 
• MS- Nik Uhler, 8th Grade Boys Basketball

EH Athletics News - January 17, 2017

• Our Varsity Wrestling Team were Champions of the Eastern Hancock Invitational this past Saturday! 
• The IHSAA girls basketball tourney draw was this past Sunday. Below is the schedule for Sectional 42 at Knightstown. 
• Game 1: Triton Central vs Shenandoah 1/31 – 7:30pm
• Game 2: Eastern Hancock vs Irvington Prep 2/3 – 6:00pm
• Game 3: Knightstown vs Winner Game 1 – 7:30pm
• Game 4: Winner Game 2 vs Winner Game 3 – 7:30pm 
• With 2 wins this past weekend our Varsity boys basketball team is on a 4 game winning streak and has won 6 of its last 7 games. 
• More Swim Team school records were broke last week. They are as follows 
• Elijah Harris: 100 Free (54.75), Shelby Kell: 500 Free (5:56.11) 1st girl in school history to get under 6 minutes and only 3rd swimmer total!, Chris Walton: 500 Free (5:21.71), and 100 Back (1:01.35).
• This past Saturday we had 4 new inductees to the EH Athletic Hall of Fame. They were David Dunbar, Joe Havlin, Jeremy Wisehart, and Lexi Vincz.

• HS- Garret Henderson, Swimming 
• MS- Olivia Hancock, 7th Grade Girls Basketball

EH Athletics News - January 9, 2017

• Over break Chris Walton of our Boys swim team shattered 3 more school records. They are as follows 
• 500 Free 5:24.81 at Mooresville, 100 Free 55.08 at Indian Creek, 200 Free 1:58.36 at Indian Creek 
• Our high school wrestling team has a big week coming up. 
• On Tuesday they will travel to the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown to take on the Panthers. 6pm start. 
• On Saturday they will host the annual EH Invitational. Start will be 9am. 
• The boys Varsity basketball team has won 4 of its last 5 games. They have two more this week as they travel to Waldron on Friday and host Union County Saturday. 
• The girls Varsity/JV basketball team has scheduled a game for Monday, Jan. 23rd to replace the game lost because Howe did not have a team. They will host Anderson Prep. 6pm JV start with the Varsity to follow. 
• This week’s Royal Pride Athletes of the Week is:
• Skyler Schrope, boys basketball.
