EH Athletics News - December 12, 2016

  • This past Saturday our Swim Team hosted the annual EH Swim Invite. Our girls finished 2nd and our boys finished 4th. Records broke on the day included: Shelby Kell: 500 Free (6:00.50) missed becoming the first girl under 6 minutes in EH history by .50 seconds, Chris Walton: 500 Free (5:26.59), Chris Walton: 100 Back (1:01.84)
  • On Saturday our 7th & 8th grade girls basketball team did a service project at the Hancock County Food Pantry
  • Also on Saturday our 7th Grade boys basketball team won the Union County Invite.
  • This coming Friday night is the Annual Varsity Girls/Boys Basketball doubleheader at Knightstown. Girls tip at 6pm with the Varsity to follow.

EH Athletics News - December 5, 2016

  • On Saturday our EH Girls Swim team were champions of the Lawrenceburg Invite. School records that were set included:
    • Shelby Kell (Girls): 200 Free (2:14.16) and 500 Free (6:11.51)
    • Chris Walton (Boys): 200 Free (2:00.67)
  • Also on Saturday our Wrestling team won the Cambridge City Lincoln Invite. Wrestlers who went undefeated on the day included.

  • On Friday night Addison True set the school record for steals in a boys basketball varsity game (10) in a 60-33 win over Southwestern.

EH Athletics News - November 28, 2016

  • The HS Wrestling team got off to a good start Saturday as they went 4-1 at the Union County Invitational. The following young men were a perfect 5-0 in their weight class:
    • 132 Caleb Giddings, 145 Jordyn Wills, 152 Garrett Friesen, 182 Clayton Cochard, 285 Josh Robinson
  • More swim records were broken this past week in our first Coed meet of the year vs. Centerville.
    • Girls 200 Medley Relay team of Kell, Profitt, Griesmeyer, and Huffman (2:11.71)
    • Boys 500 Freestyle Chris Walton (5:27.64)
    • Girls 100 Backstroke Shelby Kell (1:08.57)
  • The boys Varsity basketball defeated County foe New Palestine Saturday evening by a score of 61-51. It was just the 2nd time in the last 26 years that the boys have defeated the Dragons.
  • The 7th Grade boys basketball team remains undefeated at 4-0!
  • The 6th grade boys basketball team were Champions of the Greenfield Thanksgiving Shootout! They went 5-0 on the weekend.

EH Athletics News - November 21, 2016

  • Last Thursday at our girls swim meet vs. New Castle and Batesville Shelby Kell broke the 100M Backstroke record with a time of 1:08.59. The first Coed meet is tonight when the Royals host the Centerville Bulldogs. 
  • Our Girls Varsity basketball team picked up 2 more wins over the weekend making them 4-2 on the year. The JV girls basketball team is 4-1.
  • Our 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams are off to a great start. They 7th grade is 4-0 and the 8th grade is 3-1. 
  • The HS Wrestling team will open its season this coming Saturday as they participate in the Union County Invitational. 
  • Our Varsity/ JV boys basketball team will open its season Wednesday night when they travel to Centerville to take on the Bulldogs, The home opener will be Saturday when the New Palestine Dragons visit. Both nights JV start time is 6pm with the Varsity to follow. 
  • 2016 EH Grad Clayton Brumfield was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Freshman of the Year. Clayton is a attending Franklin College. Link to article below.

  • Congrats to our Varsity Girls basketball coach Andy Meneely who got his first win as a Head Coach this past Tuesday @ Elwood!
  • This Wednesday is our Fall Athletic Awards. Start time will be 7pm with all sports starting in the High School gym.
  • This Thursday our Girls HS Swim team will open up its season. They will host Batesville and New Castle. Start time 6pm
  • Peyton West recently signed a letter of intent to play softball at Calumet College of St. Joseph's. (Whiting, In)

  • Believe it or not winter sports are up and running. We had the following action this weekend:
    • Our 7th & 8th grade boys basketball teams both got 2 wins over North Decatur and South Decatur in Round Robin play on Saturday morning at ND.
    • Our JV girls basketball team defeated Beech Grove Saturday evening 41-38 to open it season.
    • Our Varsity girls basketball team lost a close one to Beech Grove 52-45. 
  • Our fall athletic awards program will be Wednesday, November 16th at 7pm.

EH Athletics News - October 24, 2016

  • Our Varsity Football team defeated Centerville 27-0 in the 1st Round of the Sectional. The Royals gave up just 2 yards of total offense to Centerville which is the 4th best single game defensive performance in EH school history. The Royals will host Triton Central this coming Friday. 7pm start.
  • Our Varsity volleyball team wrapped up its season this past week at the Heritage Christian Sectional. The team finished with 13 overall wins which is a 5 game improvement from last year!

EH Athletics News - October 17, 2016

  • This week our Volleyball team will be participating in the Sectional at Heritage Christian. Their first game is Thursday night at 7:30pm when they take on Irvington Prep. Sectional semi- finals are Saturday morning and Finals are Saturday night. 
  • The JV volleyball team completed their season with a victory this past Saturday over Tindley. They finished with an 18-7 record on the year.
  • Our Cross Country teams completed their season this past Saturday when they had 7 runners advance out of the Sectional at New Pal. Unfortunately, we did not have anyone advance to the Semi-State. However, there were some close misses.
  • The football team opens up Sectional play this coming Friday when the travel to Centerville to take on the Bulldogs. 7pm start.

EH Athletics News - October 3, 2016

 
  • Our JV volleyball were champions of the Irvington Prep Invitational this past Saturday!
  • Our boys XC team were champions of the EH Invitational this past Saturday. This was the boys first championship since 2006. Our girls finished 2nd Saturday.
  • This Saturday our football teams will be playing at Lucas Oil Stadium. Below is the schedule for the day. (Has been modified slightly)
    • 10am EH 7th Grade vs. Homeschool Lions 7th Grade - will play two 10 minute running clock quarters.
    • 10:30am (Approx) EH 8th Grade vs. Homeschool Lions 8th Grade - will play a full game (to make up for the game which was rained out)
    • 2pm EH Varsity vs. Shenandoah
    • 4:45 p.m. – Shelbyville vs. Mt. Vernon
    • 7:30 p.m. – Jeffersonville vs. Columbus East
  • Tickets are still on sale in the athletic office

EH Athletics News - September 26, 2016

  • Tickets are now on sale in the athletic office for the Varsity Football game at Lucas Oil on Oct. 8th. Cost is as follows
    • Ages 13 & up - $11
    • Ages 3-12 - $8
    • Age 2 & under - Free
  • Boys & Girls Cross Country - This past Saturday at the Delta Invitational we had 2 boys and 1 girl finish in the Top 10. On the girls side Taylor Stine finished in 9th place- for the boys Gabe Blake placed 7th and Skyler Schrope was 10th. The Royals host the EH Invite this coming Saturday. Start time 2pm.
  • The boys MS Cross Country team were champions of the Heritage Day Classic this past Saturday. Daniel Campbell was the overall individual winner!

EH Athletics News - September 12, 2016

  • Our Varsity football was victorious over Broad Ripple this past Friday night at Homecoming. Next up is the Knightstown Panthers. The Anvil in on the line. EH will look to keep it for the fourth consecutive year. 
  • Also upcoming is our Football Game vs. Shenandoah at Lucas Oil Stadium on October 8th. We have also added MS football to the day at Lucas Oil. Below is the schedule for the day. 
    • 10:30am EH 7th Grade vs. Homeschool Lions 7th Grade - will play two 10 minute running clock quarters. 
    • 11am (Approx) EH 8th Grade vs. Homeschool Lions 8th Grade - will play a full game (to make up for the game which was rained out)

  • This past Friday our Varsity football team defeated Northeastern 38-28. In the game Jarett Lewis set the single game record by throwing for 308 yards!
  • On Saturday Taylor Stine was a medalist at the Marion Invitational. She finished 18th with a time of 21:37.
  • The girls golf team moved to 6-1 in dual match play with a victory over Cambridge City last week. 
  • Our JV volleyball team remains undefeated with a perfect 7-0 record!

EH Athletics News - August 29, 2016

  • At the Rushville High School Cross Country Invite this past Saturday the Royals had two top twenty finishers in the field of 120 competitors with Gabe Blake 11th (time 18:15) and Skyler Schrope 15th (time 18:25). 
  • The Girls Varsity Golf team moved to 5-1 in dual match play with wins over Wes Del and Triton Central last week. Abby Fout with a 52.6-9 hole average and Emily Carlton with a 54.1-9 hole average are leading the way.
  • Our JV volleyball team remains undefeated after a big win over county rival Greenfield on Thursday! The girls are now 5-0.
  • The middle school tennis team moved to a perfect 4-0 with a victory of Creston Middle School last week!

  • We have some feeder teams who are off to great starts this year.
    • Both our boys and girls MS tennis teams are 2-0 thus far.
    • Our 7th Grade football team is 2-0 as well.
    • 7th Grade Volleyball won its opening match against Shenandoah. 
    • Our JV volleyball team is a perfect 3-0.

EH Athletics News - August 15, 2016

  • The girls golf team is off to a 2-1 start. They have defeated Wapahani and North Decatur while falling to Mount Vernon. 
  • Tonight our Varsity and JV volleyball teams open up their season. They will be hosting North Decatur. 6pm JV start.
  • The HS Cross Country teams also open up the season tonight. They will be traveling to Blue River Park in Shelbyville to participate in an invitational.
  • Our boys tennis team will begin their campaign tomorrow night when they travel to Southwestern to take on the Spartans.
  • Finally, on Friday our Varsity Football team will take on the Greenfield-Central Cougars for the first time in school history. It will be a 7pm kickoff.
  • The EH Athletic Boosters will be hosting a Porkburger Dinner prior to the game Friday from 5pm to kickoff. The dinner will take place just north of the baseball field. Pre-sale dinner tickets are $6 and can be purchased in the athletic office all week. Cost the night of will be $7. 
  • This week’s Royal Pride Athlete of the Week is Mitch Guinn from our Football team!

  • The girls golf team opened up the EH athletic year with a win over Wapahani this past Thursday. Abby Fout led the way by shooting a 49.

Registration starts at 7:00am
- Portions of the cost go to raise money for the EH Royals Baseball & Lady Royals Basketball Programs
Cost: $60 per person/$240 per team (4 members per team).
$15 per person just to come have supper and no golfWe can match your 2 member team with another 2 member team
Free range balls prior to start
If rained out rain checks for golf and cart will be given
REGISTRATION DUE - Thursday, Aug 18.
